My son and I stayed here on our 3 day road trip to Colorado. I chose Oakley as it was the best place to stop between KY, and CO. The hotel is RIGHT off Interstate 70. It was modern and clean, and well appointed. The staff was helpful and friendly. I didn't eat the breakfast but it looked plentiful. In addition to cereals and breads, they had fresh fruit, sausage, scrambled eggs (looked like powdered). We were very satisfied with our stay, especially for the price. HOWEVER, there is one small detail that you should know...there is a large feedlot within a few miles of the hotel, and it smells...like a feedlot. Our eyes were running as we walked from our car to the hotel lobby. The woman behind the desk explained that the severity of the small was determined by the direction of the wind. It was quite ripe!! Once in our room the smell was barely noticeable.
Room was fine. More expensive than competition, but manager insisted breakfast was great. It must have been since I got there an hour before it ended and there was no eggs, no bacon and no COFFEE! At 8:30, no coffee. So I spent even more money going across the street to eat breakfast and get COFFEE. Last time for this place, too much competition to put up with that.
The amenities are very nice. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. The breakfast bar has everything you could want, it was also spotless. The beds are comfortable and the room was very clean. I would very much recommend this hotel.
Stayed one night. Very new and very clean. Employees were nice. Breakfast was not bad (pretty much what you'd expect for a continental breakfast. I did really like the coffee though). Rooms were great and just smelled like a plain ol hotel room. Two cons: 1) Half sizes pillows. Not crazy about them. 2) Paint on the bathtub was peeling off. Seemed like they used regular wall paint or something and the water was easily stripping it off. 4/5!
If I could rate it a zero, I would. Their reservation line is ridiculous! The person I spoke to was very difficult to understand, he was rude and very unaccommodating with the reservation I needed to make. He argued with me about the type of reservation I needed. It is for corporate lodging. Needless to say, I will NEVER reserve a room at this hotel ever again! Also, they fake reviews on here. You'll read "Guests say this" and "Guests say that" , but it's clearly them giving themselves positive reviews to keep their ratings up! Pathetic
